Description

IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.3 incorporates several advancements over previous versions of this enterprise-level operations management solution. This course covers key changes in version 7.3, including embedded Web client capabilities previously delivered by IBM Tivoli Netcool/Webtop. You will also learn about performance and scalability improvements, deployment enhancements, and improved integration and interoperation with other Tivoli software.

This 3-day, hands-on course includes lectures, discussions, and a wide variety of exercises.

Objectives

•    Determine pre-installation requirements
•    Describe the new architecture and features
•    Install OMNIbus, probes, gateways, and the Web GUI
•    Use the Active Event List display
•    Use the new Event Dashboard layouts and parameters
•    Configure filters, views, and new features of maps using the Web GUI with the extended WAAPI command set
•    Use the Tivoli Integrated Portal 1.1 System Cloning Solution (SCS)
•    Describe load balancing from a Tivoli Integrated Portal and Web GUI perspective
•    Describe and use the Transient Filter Registry Service
•    Configure Predictive Analytics from IBM Tivoli Monitoring
•    Use connection failure/timeout handling and granularity tuning
•    Use the Webtop Exporter

Participants

This course is for existing OMNIbus V7.2.1 and earlier advanced administrators and users. This course is intended to update current skill sets of OMNIbus administrators, implementers, support personal, and user communities to version 7.3 functionality.

Prerequisite(s)

You should have previous Netcool/Omnibus administration and configuration experience.
