Description

IBM Cognos Express Xcelerator and Advisor (V9.0): For Developers is a 5 day, instructor-led course for partners who need to learn IBM Cognos Express Xcelerator such as dimension and cube building, cube rules, and Turbo Integrator processes as well as how to use BI to report off an Xcelerator cube. You will learn what is required to create an Xcelerator server, an Xcelerator model and use Xcelerator Workflow.

You will then learn how to create a cube from relational data using IBM Cognos Express Data Advisor.

You will learn the full analysis capabilities of Advisor including tables and charts, calculations, traffic lights, dynamic views, formatting and printing views.This course is intended for registered partners only.

Through hands-on workshops, you will also learn how to use the various interfaces within IBM Cognos Express, how to format websheets and add functions that can then be exposed in Cognos 8 via portlets. Furthermore you will learn how to use an Xcelerator cube in IBM Cognos Express Reporter and gain an understanding of named levels, default members and their importance when building reports in and its management within IBM Cognos Express reporter.

Participants

This intermediate course is for individuals with little prior experience with IBM Cognos TM1, and who are new to IBM Cognos Express but have good working knowledge of IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence components: Query Studio, Report Studio, Framework Manager, and Cognos Administration. Good working knowledge is defined as the ability to actively create new materials, determine how existing materials were created and the best way to complete modifications if necessary, understand and explain administration tasks, and the ability to provide an overview to others who are new to the product.
