Exploring new features in IBM WebSphere Portal 7.0 System Administration for Linux
Description
This the Linux version of the course Exploring new features of IBM Websphere Portal 7.0 Administration on Windows (WPL80).
This in-depth, two-day instructor-led course introduces existing WebSphere Portal administrators to the new features in WebSphere Portal 6.1.5 and 7.0 and provides hands-on labs that allow the student to explore the new features. Students will learn about how these enhancements affect administration of the WebSphere Portal platform. This course is designed for WebSphere portal administrators experienced with administration interfaces such as portlets, XML access, scripting, WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console, and so forth.

• Setup a wiki and blog
• Configure tagging and rating
• Use a desktop editor to edit static content (WebDAV)
• Use a desktop editor to change page metadata and globalization information

• Configure a user's ability to customize the portlet window title
• Enable display of SSL-secured features
• Configure global cookies for feeds
• Add an iWidget to a page
• Impersonate a portal user
• Use ISA-lite to collect logs before contacting support
• Enable verbose garbage collections
• Locate the unified task list collateral on the WebSphere Portal Solutions Catalog
Participants
The target audience for this course is administrators that currently manage WebSphere Portal 6.1 or later.
Prerequisite(s)
Students should have:
• Completed the following WebSphere Portal courses or have equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience:
o IBM WebSphere Portal 6.1 Administration 1 and 2 (WP731)
Students should be familiar with WebSphere Portal administration interfaces, including WPscript, XML access, and WebSphere Application Administrative Console.
